AWS launches top secret western region
AWS launches top secret western region Amazon Web Services announced AWS Top-Secret West, which is the second region dedicated to handling top-secret classification-level workloads.
The new region is more than 1,000 miles from AWS Top-Secret East and will enable customers in the defense, intelligence, and national security communities to access a multi-region architecture to increase resiliency and availability.
According to Max’s AWS blog post, the new AWS top-secret area has received the National Intelligence Director’s Intelligence Community Directive (ICD 503) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology Special Publication (SP) 800-53 Revision 4 for security compliance certification AWS Peterson, Vice President of Global Public Sector.
NextGov reported this new area for the first time. In 2014, AWS opened Top-Secret East, an air-gap commercial cloud certified to support confidential workloads.
